It Was A Beautiful Day Mrs. Carroll

Last Friday was a beautiful family gathering for the Memorial/Funeral of Mrs. Mary Ellen Carroll.  She wanted a Mass at her respected church in Huntington Beach, CA, St Vincent De Paul.

She was a wonderful Mother, Grand Mother and Great Grand Mother.  Sam and I had the pleasure of getting to know her once again in the past few years since my high school days.

We drove in on Thursday so I could help Sandi make arrangements for Friday's reception.

Phil and his son Matty Joe making coleslaw for the over 100 persons who attended.

Check out all the orbs surrounding the Virgin Mary.

Beautiful Great Grand Daughter Devyn.

Beautiful Great Grand Daughter Lyndsay.

Mrs. Carroll was very dedicated to her church and family.

One of her favorite pastimes was walking on the beach looking for sea shells and having a beach BBQ with hot dogs and making s'mores over a beach fire pit.  So on Saturday we all headed to the beach to celebrate her life.

The kids enjoyed a warm day in January.  The wind was a bit rough, but it didn't stop their fun.

Beautiful Great Grand Daughter Ryleigh.

Mrs. Carroll was a great teacher to all her children.  So many friends and family members gave her nothing but praise.
I had heard she was very competitive at games (I had wondered where Sandi got that from, lol) and had joined many social groups always helping in her community.

She will always be remembered as a special lady...Sam called her a "kick in the pants"!

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing feels the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
